When faced with feelings of frustration and powerlessness against larger systemic issues—such as systemic racism and exclusion—it can be easier to direct those emotions toward a more accessible and familiar target: a successful Black woman. This is a form of displaced aggression, where anger that originates from broader societal issues is redirected within the community.
